No, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 doesn't have MagSafe. It has no built-in magnet ring, so magnetic alignment only happens when the case adds the magnets. That makes a Z Fold 7 MagSafe case more than a style choice: it decides whether your phone snaps cleanly onto a car mount, holds a magnetic wallet without sliding, and lines up with your wireless charger on the first try. Our best Fold 7 MagSafe case overall is the Halo M1, with six more picks below.

Full disclosure: This guide is published on FoldifyCase's own blog, and six of the seven cases below are ours. We've ranked them by who they're actually best for — not by margin — and we've included one third-party pick (Spigen Tough Armor Pro MagFit) for the use case where we don't have an answer of our own. Updated 29 September 2026.

We design magnetic cases specifically for foldables. Below are the seven we'd actually recommend for the Z Fold 7 in 2026, ranked by who each case is best for — and because the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra folds to exactly the same size as the Z Fold 7, we've flagged which ones are also made for the Ultra. If you only have a minute, skip to the comparison table, or browse every case in our Galaxy Z Fold 7 range. Shopping for any kind of Fold 7 case, not just magnetic? Start with our best Galaxy Z Fold 7 cases guide.

The short version

Weighing the six magnetic cases below against what the Z Fold 7 actually needs — hinge handling, magnet hold, kickstand usefulness, charging alignment — the Halo M1 is our best overall pick for most Z Fold 7 owners. It pairs an aluminium build with a 360° rotating ring that doubles as a kickstand and finger grip. If you want a stylus on hand, the Sync M1 wins (it holds a capacitive stylus — the Z Fold 7 doesn't support the S Pen). If thinness matters more than the ring, look at the Apex M1. Might move to a Z Fold 8 Ultra later? The Axon M2, Axon M1 and Apex M3 are made for both. Full breakdown, including who each case is wrong for, below.

How we chose

Magnetic cases for foldables are different from any other case category: the magnets have to line up with the charging coil, the case has to work with a hinge, and any ring or stand has to cope with a heavier, wider phone. Here's what we weighed for each pick.

  • Hinge handling. Does the case cover the hinge, or leave it free with a clean two-piece fit? Both approaches can be right; a case that simply ignores the hinge isn't.
  • Magnet hold. Does it use a stated magnet grade (every FoldifyCase magnetic case uses N52 magnets), and will it hold a magnetic wallet or car mount securely?
  • Wireless-charging alignment. Does the ring centre the phone on a charger, and does wireless charging work with the case on?
  • Kickstand and grip. Where there's a ring or stand, does it double as a grip, and does it work in portrait and landscape?
  • Real-world carry. Bulk, finish, and how the case lives in a jacket pocket, jeans pocket or bag.
  • Edge and drop protection. Raised edges around the cameras and cover screen, and how much impact protection the case adds for its bulk.

None of these cases changes the Z Fold 7's water resistance — the phone is IP48 rated, and no case meaningfully changes that.

1. Halo M1 — Best Z Fold 7 MagSafe case overall

Halo M1 magnetic metal case for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 with 360° rotating magnetic ring kickstand

Our pick · Best overall

Halo M1

Aluminium build · 360° rotating ring stand · N52 magnets · Fits Galaxy Z Fold 7, 6 and 5

View Halo M1 →

The Halo M1 is the case we recommend to anyone who walks in not knowing what they want. It's not the thinnest and not the most heavy-duty — it's the one that gets the most things right at once.

An aluminium metal build gives it a premium, industrial feel and durable protection in a slim profile that follows the phone's original lines. The alloy ring is the highlight: it rotates a full 360° for portrait or landscape viewing and opens up to 120° as a kickstand, and it works as a finger grip for one-handed use. The N52 magnetic array gives a strong, precise bond with MagSafe-style chargers, wallets and mounts — it holds on a magnetic dashboard mount over bumpy roads — and wireless charging works through the case.

Best for: most Z Fold 7 owners. Daily drivers, professionals, anyone who wants stand + magnet + protection without choosing.
Skip if: you're trying to keep the phone as thin as possible (look at the Apex M1), you want a stylus on hand (look at the Sync M1), or you plan to move to a Z Fold 8 Ultra — the Halo M1 is made for the Z Fold 7, 6 and 5 only.
Colours: Titanium, Black or Blue.

The Halo M1's 360° rotating ring is the highlight — a stand, a finger grip, and the magnetic mount point in one piece.

2. Sync M1 — Best Z Fold 7 magnetic case for carrying a stylus

The Sync M1's spine compartment keeps a stylus with the phone. On the Z Fold 7 that's a capacitive stylus — the Z Fold 7 doesn't support the S Pen.

First, the honest bit: Samsung removed S Pen support from the Z Fold 7 entirely — the S Pen Fold Edition and S Pen Pro only work on the Z Fold 3, 4, 5 and 6, and no case can bring that back. If you're upgrading from a Z Fold 5 or 6, your S Pen won't work on the Z Fold 7. What the Sync M1 does give you is a dedicated compartment along the spine that keeps a slim capacitive stylus locked in place until you need it — useful for notes, signatures and sketching on the big inner screen. On the Z Fold 6 and Z Fold 5 versions, the same compartment fits the S Pen Fold Edition.

A hinge cover gives 360° protection against dust and impact as you fold, and the rear panel combines a rectangular kickstand with an N52 MagSafe-compatible magnetic ring, so the phone snaps onto MagSafe-style chargers and mounts and props up hands-free on a desk. The slim build keeps wireless charging working through the case. It's available with or without a stylus in the box.

Best for: Z Fold 7 owners who want a capacitive stylus always on hand, or Z Fold 6 and 5 owners who carry the S Pen Fold Edition.
Skip if: you don't use a stylus — you're paying for utility you'll never use. It's also made for the Z Fold 7, 6 and 5 only; if you want a stylus-carrying hinge case that's also made for the Z Fold 8 Ultra, look at the Kinetic P1.
Colours: Black or Silver.

3. Axon M2 — Best for hinge protection

Hinge anxiety is one of the most common reasons people ask us about cases, and for good reason: the hinge takes the hit when a foldable lands spine-first, and it's where dust and grit work their way in. The Axon M2 wraps it: a rigid hinge cover closes over the spine to keep dust, grit and knocks away from the fold mechanism.

Around that sits an aerospace-grade alloy frame with an electroplated edge finish that absorbs corner hits, plus raised edges around the camera module and cover screen. On the back, a metal ring on a painted aluminium alloy plate swivels a full 360° and folds out to 180° as a kickstand, and the N52 magnet ring holds MagSafe-style chargers, wallets and car mounts, with wireless charging through the case when the ring is folded flat.

Six colours — Black, Silver, Green, Blue, Gold and Red — if you want something other than the usual black-or-blue. And it's one of the picks here that's also made for the Z Fold 8 Ultra.

Best for: people who've already broken one foldable, work outdoors, or carry the phone in a bag with keys and pens.
Skip if: you want a minimalist look — the hinge cover and metal frame are visually busier than a plain shell.
Models: Galaxy Z Fold 7, plus Z Fold 8 Ultra, Z Fold 8, 6, 5 and iPhone Duo versions.

4. Apex M1 — Best slim magnetic Z Fold 7 case

Apex M1 slim MagSafe-compatible magnetic case for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7

Our pick · Best slim

Apex M1

Slim, low-profile shell · Built-in N52 magnet array · Fits Galaxy Z Fold 7, 6 and 5

View Apex M1 →

If you've ever taken a case off because it ruined the in-hand feel of your Z Fold 7, the Apex M1 is what you actually want. It follows the phone's original curves for a thin, lightweight feel — closer to a skin than a heavy case — but still packs a built-in N52 magnetic array for MagSafe-style chargers, wallets, car mounts and desktop stands, with wireless charging through the case.

The trade is no kickstand and no ring. The magnets sit inside the back panel, which keeps the profile genuinely slim but means you'll never use it as a finger grip or stand. If you want a grip ring as well, look at the Halo M1 or Axon M2 instead, or see our Halo M1 vs Apex M1 comparison. Reinforced edges give 360° impact defence, and magnetic shielding keeps the magnets from interfering with the phone's internal sensors or signal. Four colours: White, Black, Dark Blue and Orange.

Best for: people who hate cases but want MagSafe-style accessory support; anyone trying to keep the Z Fold 7's thin folded profile.
Skip if: you've dropped a phone from above waist height in the last six months, or you want a slim magnetic case that's also made for the Z Fold 8 Ultra (see the Apex M3 below).
Models: Galaxy Z Fold 7, 6 and 5.

A designer's line study of a slim magnetic case: a low-profile shell with a built-in magnet ring — the kind of case that disappears.

5. Axon M1 — Best clear magnetic case

Clear cases for foldables are surprisingly hard to do well — many yellow over time or look cluttered around the magnet ring. The Axon M1 is our clear option, built from a high-transparency polycarbonate chosen to resist yellowing, so the phone's own colour stays visible.

The ring is mounted over the magnet array and finished in a metallic accent that matches the camera bezel — a deliberate contrast against the clear back, not a hidden assembly. It rotates 360° and flips out to 170°, so it works as both kickstand and finger grip, and the N52 magnets snap onto MagSafe-style chargers, wallets and car mounts. A clear snap-on front frame guards the cover screen, and reinforced edges absorb corner hits.

One real caveat: clear cases show everything. If you carry your phone in a pocket with keys or coins, the back will show micro-scratches faster than a matte case would. The trade is being able to actually see your Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, Jet Black or Mint Z Fold 7.

Best for: Z Fold 7 owners who picked a colour they want to show off; anyone gifting a Z Fold case and unsure of recipient taste. It's also made for the Z Fold 8 Ultra.
Skip if: you treat phones rough — the scratches will accumulate visibly.
Colours: six metallic accents — Silver, Gold, Pink, Blue, Purple and Black.

6. Apex M3 — Best soft-touch slim case (also made for the Z Fold 8 Ultra)

The Apex M3 is the slim magnetic case to pick if you want a warmer, grippier feel than hard plastic — or if there's a Z Fold 8 Ultra in your future. It's a two-piece shell: separate front and back halves clip onto each side of the phone and leave the hinge free, so the phone folds exactly as it does bare.

The shell is coated in soft-touch liquid silicone with an oil-repellent surface that resists fingerprints, over a four-layer build of shock-absorbing beads, a soft polycarbonate isolation layer and an inner buffer lining. Raised edges stand 1.3 mm proud around the camera lenses and 1.1 mm around the cover screen. A built-in N52 magnetic ring self-centres the phone on MagSafe-style chargers, and wireless charging works through the case.

Because the Z Fold 8 Ultra folds to the same size as the Z Fold 7 and we make the Apex M3 for both (plus the Z Fold 8, Z Fold 6 and iPhone Duo), it's a sensible choice if you might upgrade — just choose the model you own at checkout.

Best for: anyone who wants slim, grippy and magnetic, especially if a Z Fold 8 Ultra upgrade is on the cards.
Skip if: you want hinge coverage, a ring or a kickstand — the Apex M3 has none of those.
Colours: Navy Blue, Black, Purple, Pink, Cream or Light Blue.

7. Spigen Tough Armor Pro MagFit — Best rugged option (third-party)

We're honest: we don't make a rugged case with built-in magnets for the Z Fold 7 — our heavy-duty Vanguard H1 doesn't have a magnet ring. If your work involves construction sites or anything where the phone takes regular knocks and you want MagSafe-style magnets, Spigen's Tough Armor Pro (MagFit) is the case we'd point you to. Spigen lists a PC and TPU build with its Air Cushion Technology for drop protection, a hinge cover, raised edges for the screen and cameras, and a built-in magnet ring for MagSafe and MagFit accessories.

Trade-offs versus our magnetic cases: it's a bulkier, more utilitarian look, and there's no rotating ring stand. But if your alternative is a cracked Z Fold 7, the bulk is worth it. If you don't need magnets, our Vanguard H1 is a heavy-duty option with 360° hinge coverage and a built-in kickstand.

Best for: trades, parents of toddlers, anyone who's already broken a foldable.
Skip if: you don't actually need heavy-duty protection — you'll just resent the bulk.
Where to buy: Spigen Australia or Amazon AU — check their listings for current pricing.

What to look for in a Galaxy Z Fold 7 magnetic case

If you're not buying from this list, here's what actually matters when you're evaluating any Z Fold 7 magnetic case in 2026.

Hinge handling: covered or free

There are two valid approaches. Two-piece cases like the Apex M1 and Apex M3 leave the hinge free, so the phone folds exactly as it does bare. Hinge-cover cases like the Axon M2 and Sync M1 add a cover over the spine to keep grit and knocks away from the fold mechanism. What to avoid is a case that wasn't designed around a hinge at all — if the listing doesn't say how the case handles the hinge, assume it wasn't designed for foldables.

Magnet strength and grade

The Z Fold 7 has no magnets of its own for accessories, so all the holding power comes from the case. Look for a stated magnet grade — every FoldifyCase magnetic case uses N52 magnets — and real detail about what the magnets hold. If a listing says nothing about the magnets, be wary.

Wireless-charging alignment

The magnet ring's job is to centre the phone on a charger. Place the cased phone on a magnetic charger: it should snap into position on the first try and start charging. If it slides around or charges intermittently, the ring isn't lined up with the phone's charging coil.

Kickstand stability and grip

Prop the phone up in landscape and tap the inner screen — a good stand shouldn't wobble or fold. Metal rings (Halo M1, Axon M2) and the Axon M1's ring double as a finger grip, which thin fold-out stands can't.

Camera and cover-screen lip height

The camera lenses and the cover screen are the parts that meet the table first. Any case worth buying lifts both off a flat surface, and a good listing will tell you by how much — the Apex M3, for example, has a 1.3 mm camera lip and a 1.1 mm cover-screen lip.

Material trade-off: metal vs slim shell vs clear polycarbonate

Metal cases feel premium and solid, but they add weight and can scratch metallic surfaces (like a laptop lid). Slim polycarbonate or silicone-coated shells are lighter and thinner but give less rigidity. Clear polycarbonate shows off the phone's colour but shows scratches too. There's no objectively right answer — pick the trade you can live with.

Model fit: Z Fold 7, Z Fold 8 Ultra and older models

A Z Fold 6 case will not fit a Z Fold 7 — the body and camera layout changed. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is the exception going forward: it folds to the same 158.4 × 72.8 × 8.9 mm as the Z Fold 7, so Z Fold 7-sized cases carry over, with the camera cut-out the one thing to check. The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 (the wide model) needs its own case. Cases listed for several models use a different mould per model, so always choose the version that matches your phone.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 magnetic case FAQ

Does the Z Fold 7 have MagSafe?

No. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 has no built-in magnets, so it doesn't support MagSafe on its own (MagSafe is Apple's system). It does charge wirelessly at up to 15W and is “Qi2 Ready”, which means a magnetic case supplies the magnet ring. With one on, MagSafe-style chargers, wallets and car mounts snap straight onto your Z Fold 7.

What is a Galaxy Z Fold 7 magnetic case?

A Galaxy Z Fold 7 magnetic case is a case with a built-in magnet ring or array that lets your foldable snap onto MagSafe-style chargers, mounts and wallets. The Z Fold 7 has no built-in magnets for these accessories, so the case is what makes the magnetic accessory ecosystem work with the phone.

Are magnetic cases safe for the Z Fold 7 hinge?

Yes. The magnets sit in the back panel, away from the hinge mechanism. Whether a case leaves the hinge free (a two-piece design like the Apex M1) or covers it (a hinge cover like the Axon M2), what matters is that it was designed for the Z Fold 7 so the phone still folds properly.

Will iPhone MagSafe accessories work with the Z Fold 7?

Yes, with a magnetic case. MagSafe-style wallets, mounts and chargers snap onto the case's magnet ring. Very cheap unbranded accessories with weak magnets may not hold as well.

How strong are the magnets in a Z Fold 7 magnetic case?

It varies by brand, and many listings don't say. Every FoldifyCase magnetic case on this list uses N52-grade magnets, and the Halo M1's ring is designed to hold on a magnetic dashboard mount over bumpy roads. If a listing gives no magnet details at all, treat that as a warning sign.

Can I use wireless charging with a magnetic case on the Z Fold 7?

Yes. Every FoldifyCase magnetic case on this list supports wireless charging through the case, and the magnets help centre the phone on the charger. Very thick, heavily padded cases can slow or interrupt wireless charging.

Will a Z Fold 6 magnetic case fit the Galaxy Z Fold 7?

No. The Z Fold 7 is a different size with a different camera layout, so a Z Fold 6 case won't line up with its cutouts. Always order the case version for your model.

Will a Z Fold 7 magnetic case fit the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra?

The size carries over: the Z Fold 8 Ultra folds to the same 158.4 × 72.8 × 8.9 mm as the Z Fold 7, so a Z Fold 7 case isn't a dead-end purchase. The camera cut-out is the one thing to check, so pick a case that's sold for the Ultra — from this list, the Axon M2, Axon M1 and Apex M3. The Halo M1, Sync M1 and Apex M1 are made for the Z Fold 7, 6 and 5 only. No Z Fold 7 case fits the standard, wide Galaxy Z Fold 8.

What's the slimmest magnetic case for the Z Fold 7?

Among our cases, the Apex M1: a low-profile shell that follows the phone's lines, with a built-in magnet array and no ring or kickstand. If you want a soft-touch finish, or a slim case that's also made for the Z Fold 8 Ultra, look at the Apex M3.

Does the Galaxy Z Fold 7 support the S Pen?

No. The Z Fold 7 has no S Pen support, and neither do the Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra; the S Pen Fold Edition and S Pen Pro only work on the Z Fold 3, 4, 5 and 6. So there's no S Pen for a magnet ring to interfere with on a Z Fold 7. If you want a stylus on hand, the Sync M1's spine compartment holds a slim capacitive stylus.

Our verdict

If you only read the conclusions: buy the Halo M1 if you don't know what you want — it does most things well. Buy the Axon M2 if you've already broken a foldable. Buy the Apex M1 if you take cases off because they feel bulky. Buy the Apex M3 if you want slim and grippy, or might move to a Z Fold 8 Ultra. Buy the Spigen Tough Armor Pro MagFit if you work on a construction site. Everything else on this list serves a narrower use case — if you don't already know why you'd need it, you probably don't.
